FAQ
WHERE IS YOUR OFFICE?
Our visits will be conducted virtually. You’ll need an internet-capable device (smartphone, tablet, computer) and the Zoom application or website. At this time all of my patients must physically be in the state of Washington due to my malpractice insurance.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
I take Premera, Regence, First Choice Health, Kaiser PPO, LifeWise, and their subsidiaries. Please call your provider before assuming your visit will be covered as plans and coverage may vary. I do not bill out of network, and I do not assist in "superbill" submittal. For those that do not have insurance, or for those who wish to pay cash, I offer a discounted rate of $189 per 50-minute visit for adults and children, and $149 per 50-minute visit for full-time students and seniors.
HOW LONG ARE YOUR APPOINTMENTS?
All appointments are 50 minutes and start on the hour. Doctors are notorious for running late; I want to change this with my practice. Because I respect your time, my time, and my other patients’ time, all appointments will end 10 minutes before the next hour regardless of when you arrive to your visit. All no-call, no-show appointments will be charged at the full discounted rate of $189 per office visit.
DO YOU OFFER WEEKEND APPOINTMENTS?
My typical office hours are Tuesday through Friday from 9am-5pm. If you would like to schedule a visit outside these times, please contact me. There is an additional $50 charge to have a visit outside of normal business hours.
DO YOU ORDER LABS?
Yes. I order traditional lab work through LabCorp or Quest, and these orders are typically covered (to some degree) by insurance. Please call your insurance provider before you complete the lab order to confirm coverage. I also order labs from companies such as Boston Heart Diagnostics, Cleveland Heart Labs, and Precision Analytics. Sometimes portions of these labs can be covered by insurance but are commonly paid for in cash. All blood draws will be performed at a disclosed location depending on the lab. I also contract with phlebotomists who are able to come to your home or office for an additional charge.
CAN YOU PRESCRIBE MEDICATIONS?
Yes. My license allows me to prescribe schedule V, IV and modified schedule III pharmaceutical drugs. Please check out Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) scheduling for more details.
WILL YOU BE MY PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN?
I am not assuming the role of your primary care physician (PCP) at this time. My practice is not appropriately set up to handle traditional annual checkups or acute conditions such as infections, injury, chest pain, etc. due to the physical examinations required for those visits. See my thoughts on how to navigate the healthcare system to address these issues.
HOW ARE YOUR SERVICES DIFFERENT THAN MY CURRENT DOCTOR’S SERVICES?
I strive to understand your medical complaint, problem, and/or concern within the context of the rest of your health picture by making connections that are not typically addressed by conventional medical standards. I also dedicate ample time to studying your specific health trends and patterns, which is not commonly practiced in medicine today. Check out my thoughts on how to navigate the healthcare system and the differences between a predictive model vs. reactionary model of medicine.
