Your current state of health is not stagnant, nor does it exist in a vacuum. It is the product of multiple systems working simultaneously in an attempt to attain equilibrium. To address your particular health goals and underlying concerns, I evaluate the following six foundational physiological systems through extensive intake, lab work, and wearable devices:
Nutrient Status. Every cell in your body requires the correct balance of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and phytochemicals for optimal functionality. Does your body effectively absorb, use, and maintain sufficient reserves of nutrients?
Lipid and Lipoprotein Management. Lipids are fatty acids (such as cholesterol and omegas) and lipoproteins are proteins that transport lipids in your blood; both play a significant role in cardiovascular and brain health. Does your body maintain appropriate levels of lipids and lipoproteins?
Fuel Disposal. Fuel disposal refers to your body’s ability to convert the food you consume into usable energy (the most important being glucose). Does your body efficiently allocate and burn the fuel you give it?
Hormone Balance. Hormones are messenger molecules that dictate how your body operates (everything from libido, energy and strength, stress, menstrual cycles and fertility, hunger, sleep, etc.). Does your body produce and release the right hormones at the appropriate times?
Stress Response. Stress is the feeling of emotional or physical tension you experience in response to your environment. Does your body successfully respond to, and recover from, the stress it experiences?
Molecular Function. This concept refers to your body’s ability to communicate between different systems and organize your overall health at a molecular level (mitochondrial function, genetic expression, inflammation control, methylation, detoxification, etc.). Does your body and its constituent systems effectively communicate with each other for optimal performance?
I believe the majority of our health issues stem from imbalances in one or more of the above six areas. I will assess your body’s performance in these categories and using the information gained, empower you with the knowledge you need to experience optimal health.
